Welcome from the Headteacher

I am pleased to extend to you a warm welcome to St Andrew’s Church of England Primary school. Our school is a very special place to be. We are a family where our pupils thrive, love learning and develop the skills to be able to enjoy “Life in all its fullness”.

We are very proud of our inspiring and ambitious curriculum. This is enhanced by our broad range of trips, visits, enrichment opportunities and our after-school clubs.

Our pupils thrive and benefit from great teaching across the school. We have a happy, welcoming team of staff who are all committed to be the best they can be.

Our 6 core values create a culture and ethos of high expectations and standards. We believe that all of our pupils can achieve great things, and we ensure that we prepare them for every stage of their school life.

Our pupils are at the heart of all that we do. We have a commitment to know each child and their family, working in partnership to achieve the best for each pupil. We have a dedicated team of professionals who support the pastoral and well-being needs of our pupils.

We have amazing grounds. Pupils play and take part in a wide range of competitive and non-competitive sports across our 10 acres of space, with three playgrounds, space for six football pitches, an outdoor learning space, a pond and playing fields with plenty of space. At playtimes pupils develop their resilience, creativity, collaborative skills and imagination through the OPAL scheme. We have Forest Schools provision and pupils enjoy accessing our music, cookery and art rooms.

We are a community school enjoying close links and opening our doors to our school church, Reed’s, ACS and other groups. St Andrew’s is part of the Enlighten Learning Trust which has enabled us to develop purposeful and mutually supportive links with other schools.

Best wishes

Christina Witkowski, Headteacher
