Welcome to the Governors’ section of our website, which aims to introduce you to the governing body at our school.
As a Voluntary Controlled School, St Andrew's is proud of our place in the community. We welcome pupils from all backgrounds on a fully inclusive basis and our school is widely recognised for its pastoral care and support as well as its high levels of academic achievement, sports activities and ‘extra-curricular’ activities.
In a nutshell our role as governors is to oversee how St Andrew's delivers education to our pupils, but also to ensure the school retains its place at the very heart of our local community.
Governors are drawn from parents, staff, local authority and diocese representatives as well as straightforward community members; individual profiles give some personal background about each governor, their role and the groups on which they serve.
There are some specific areas of focus for us as governors, which we address in particular groups and these are also outlined for you here.
If you would like further information about our governors, the governing body or any aspect of school governance please contact me via the Governors’ Clerk at the school, the school office or directly in person.
