St Andrew's C of E Primary School

Our Facilities

St Andrew's is set in the most extensive Primary School grounds in Surrey, almost ten acres of green field and playground space for our children to enjoy for sports, recreation and outdoor learning.

Netball, football and rounders pitches all see regular use as well as, in Summer, an excellent athletics track. Pupils also play games including tennis and netball on the marked out playground surfaces. Other outdoor facilities include a 25 metre heated swimming pool which is used by all children in the school during the Summer Term.

Inside there is a great sense of space throughout the main building. Thirteen large well-lit classrooms fully equipped with interactive whiteboards (and projection facilities) are augmented by a variety of smaller work spaces for one-to-one reading and small group activities.  IT is embedded throughout the school, with state of the art laptops and netbooks available to all pupils.

At the heart of the main building is a delightful suite of interlocking purpose-built Foundation and Key Stage 1 classrooms where everything is scaled and centred on our younger pupils, overlooking enclosed outdoor spaces where children can explore hands-on play-based learning..

Our secondary school heritage means that we have the luxury of two school halls, one with a fully equipped stage and the other with stackaway dining facilities. These spaces are in use throughout the day for a wide array of activities, from lunch to PE classes, dance, drama, assemblies, visiting performances and special events.

Other facilities around the school include well stocked Infant and Junior libraries, a new medical room, and The Hub, a dedicated teaching space for targeted learning support.

At breaktimes our youngest children enjoy exploring the playhouses and ‘jungle gym’ adventure apparatus in the Reception playground, which also caters for quieter imaginative play. Both Reception and Key Stage 1 playgrounds have specialist playground markings for games and outdoor learning, and a wide variety of playground toys are available. For our older children the Junior playground area is zoned to provide separate spaces for ball games, quiet activities and use of physical play equipment. Pupils also enjoy use of an adventure trail adjacent to the Junior playground.

The St Andrew's site is also home to the extremely popular Little Acorns Nursery as well as the Susan Robert Dance and Drama Academy, which provides extra-curricular classes to over 450 children and young people from St Andrew's and the other schools in the area.
