Our enrichment programme aims to inspire and motivate our pupils to learn in a range of ways using innovative approaches.
We are aiming to develop St Andrew’s into a Forest School. Forest School is an inspirational process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees. Forest School is a specialised learning approach that sits within and compliments the wider context of outdoor and woodland education. Forest school learning will be incorporated into the curriculum over the coming academic year as our staff become trained in delivering this exciting programme.
Once a half term our pupils will come together in their houses and take part in range of competitive sporting and non-sporting activities.
We aim to build on the success of our competitive sports. We will be offering lunch time and after school training sessions for team and individual sports.
After School Clubs
We are running appox 20 after schools clubs each term which will cater to a broad range of interests. The clubs will be run by teachers, learning support assistants and outside providers.
The Daily Mile
The Daily Mile is an initiative aimed at getting children out of the classroom for fifteen minutes every day to run or jog, at their own pace, with their classmates, making them fitter, healthier, and more able to concentrate in the classroom.
