St Andrew’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.
Our Designated Safeguarding Leader (DSL) is the Headteacher Mrs Jo Mitchell. The Deputy DSLs are Mrs Angie Best (Pastoral Manager), Mrs Annie Farino (Acting Deputy Headteacher) and Mrs Sam Wentworth (Inclusion Manager). Please report any concerns you may have to them.

This policy has been developed in accordance with the principles established by the Children Acts 1989 and 2004; the Education Act 2002, and in line with government publications: ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’ 2015, Revised Safeguarding Statutory Guidance 2 ‘Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families’ 2000, ‘What to do if You are Worried a Child is Being Abused’ 2015. The guidance also reflects, both ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ 2015, Keeping Children Safe in Education 2016 and Surrey Safeguarding Children Board SSCB Child Protection Procedures.
