OFSTED SAYS ST ANDREW’S PRIMARY
IS AN ‘OUTSTANDING’
SCHOOL
At a recent Ofsted inspection St Andrew’s Church of
England Primary School in Lockhart Road, Cobham received the highest grading
of outstanding in every main area inspected. The report said – ‘This is an
outstanding school where pupils make excellent progress both academically
and personally’
The inspection took place in March 2007 when the
lead Inspector Marianne Harris looked in detail at every aspect of the
school’s performance. All areas were judged to be outstanding. The
judgements were based on the excellent quality of teaching which leads to a
high level of “Value Added” which is the progress which each individual
child makes. In 2006 SATS results at key Stage 2 were above the national
average with excellent results for pupils attaining Level 5. The school was
ranked 17th out of all Surrey Primary Schools for Value Added in 2005.
Marianne Harris, the lead inspector particularly commented on pupil
behaviour which she described as ‘exemplary’.
